Our next stop was Chennai, the heritage city that bleeds yellow. We deboarded train at Tada and proceed to Sri City on buses.

Sri City

Sri city was established with the vision of providing infrastructure and services for world class manufacturing industries and startups. It's a smart city spread across 7500 acres on the borders of Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh. It is designated as Special Economic Zone by the government.

Here, we visited Kobelco’s manufacturing plant, where the company manufactures hydraulic cranes and lifts. The sheer scale of the whole Sri City project is astounding. This was followed by a brilliant interaction session with Srini Raju.

Words fail to describe the genius of this man. He is the mind behind institutes like IIIT and ISB Hyderabad. He is also founder of tv9 and Sri City. Some great wisdom points from his talks :

Your freedom begins the day when you stop working to please somebody.

He strongly believes that India will be a superpower in next 20 years. He says that now is the time to stop copying western countries. Indians need to come up with our own solution to our own problems.
